Welcome back for more September Style! Today’s post is a cute, layered look that would be great for school or for the weekend. Plus, there are HUGE things happening in this outfit- I’m wearing color AND I’m wearing PANTS. [this is new territory here, guys] Let’s see how I did…
[ Cranberry Pants: Loft | Chambray Shirt: Forever 21 | Jacket: JCrew | Boots: Stuart Weitzman ]
If you’ve been a long time reader of mine, you know that I’m a little afraid of pants. They’re difficult to fit me, so I generally end up sticking with leggings or skirts and tights. I met up with LOFT while in NYC last week && they assured me that I would love their newly redesigned pants. They changed them from the ground up and had 45 different options between fit/length/color, so they were certain I’d find something.
I LOVE these cranberry colored pants! The wine red is beautiful and a perfect jewel tone for fall. If you wanted to wear a colored piece but were unsure how to do it, here are some tips-
Mix Them with Basics
-wear it with basic pieces that are already in your closet, like a chambray shirt or a casual sweater. Keep your look simple and let the pants be the star
Mix Them with Neutrals
-this type of look has the most punch when there’s only one bold color. The pants are a statement piece- let them have their moment without competing with multiple colors. That keeps your look chic instead of clown
LOFT minimized the amount of fabric used in their pants, so I’m guessing that’s why I like this pair so much- they fit great and don’t feel like I’m wearing blankets around my legs [I know, I'm weird, what's new]
The best part? For every pair of pants sold at LOFT on September 7th, they will donate a pair to Fashion Delivers- a non profit organization that provides clothing to community charities for millions of people.
Hope you guys have a great weekend! See you monday with some more style
